My grandparents and I love coming here for breakfast. Place gets super busy really quickly though. Service is awesome and quick. I love that they can accomadate my grandmas dietary restrictions. I've not had one problem with this place.
The most welcoming from a family own restaurant is the BEST place to dine. From attentive staffs and services; my yummy foods were delicious. Mahalo. P.S As I walk into Mae’s entrance and onto counter seating today; I had the Hawaiian vibe spirits. Perhaps the guests I’ve seeing in Hawaii. Aloha
Okay, I just re-discovered my favorite breakfast spot in the Garden Grove / Westminster area. I hadn't been here in decades since I lived in Stanton. The food is outstanding, good old-fashioned American breakfast, outstanding service, and up until recently, open 24 hours a day. Hopefully they'll be able to open 24 hours again soon. Porterhouse steak and eggs are outstanding, as are the biscuits and gravies and just about everything else they serve for breakfast.
Good food, affordable, nice portions, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The chicken fried steak was insanely tender and juicy, and the Tijuana Scrambled was a great combination of flavors. The biscuits and gravy was just mediocre, mostly cuz it's not sausage gravy, but that's the only "complaint" we had - the flavor of the rest of the food more than made up for it. Even at around 2:30, there was still plenty of traffic coming into the place, so I imagine this place is quite busy during peak hours. Would definitely recommend!
Wow! My first visit to Mae’s Cafe left me eagerly anticipating a return. It's a family restaurant with a charming old-school vibe. Everything was exceptionally delicious; I couldn't believe it. Their secret sauce, resembling a lighter version of thousand island dressing, and the crispy, flavorful fried zucchini were so good! The main dish I ordered, the mushroom burger, was refreshingly fresh and juicy. The atmosphere at Mae's cafe was warm and inviting, with friendly staff. The menu had a nice variety of options, and I appreciate that they cater to different tastes. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were pretty reasonable for the quality of food they served.
Had a fantastic meal and experience this morning at Mae’s Cafe! I called ahead just to get a feel for how busy it could be (I don’t mind waiting, I was just curious.). A VERY kind and accommodating woman answered the phone and I could tell she was looking around the restaurant to share what available seating they had and immediately invited my Family and I to come on in. It turns out the woman than answered and was seating us IS Mae herself! This woman is so kind, authentic, and welcoming that my wife and I looked at eachother wondering if we were missing something (?). No… Mae cares about us as customers and was so warm and welcoming as well as truly cared about my family and I in our conversation together. We ordered the steak and egg omelette, French toast with scrambled eggs and sausage patties as well as coffee and hot tea. The food was fantastic, our server was wonderful, the place is extremely clean, and we felt welcomed there. I have been in California for over twenty years and this is the nicest restaurant (food, atmosphere, wonderful energy, etc) I have visited many other establishments in my time (my wife and I have dined at The Standard Hotel, The Chateau Marmont, etc in Hollywood and we would always eat at Hotel Irvine as well…)… These are obviously different types of properties but we never received the service, the quality, and AUTHENTICITY at those places that we received at Mae’s Cafe. Mae CARES about her customers and takes pride in her business. We had a fantastic experience and we WILL be back! Wonderful experience all around. Anthem , Sang, and Tama
